We just got done dealing with Hurricane Charley only one month ago.  Fortunately, Charley moved fast so, despite it's strength, damage was limited.

Frances, on the other hand, was a slow moving super soaker!  It rained all night and into the morning.  Normally, I would just stay at home pushing wake back out my front door, but being that I work as a PBX installer for an Avaya partner and hurricanes have a nasty habit of knocking out power for long periods of time, I was awoken this AM by a service call from a mortgage company I had installed a phone system for.  Fortunately, the problem was simple.  The system didn't boot up all of the way after the power came back up.

On the way home, I stopped to take some pictures of what Frances had left behind.

This is the road behind the building where I had to do my service call.  The water was just shooting up out of the man-hole covers non-stop.

This sign from the Hillsborough Avenue/Veteran's Expressway exchange blew right off it's base during Frances.

Boarding up is smart.  If winds can rip a "Left Lane Must Turn Left" sign off it's mounting, it can certainly chuck that sign through a window too!

I thought I was avoiding the flooding at the Hillsborough and Hanley intersection by going behind the Eckerds.  As you can see, Hanley is flooded all of the way up to the Auto Zone!  How this car didn't stall out I have no idea!

Here's a shot looking the other direction from being at the back of the Eckerds.   Needless to say, the batting cages will be closed for a while.
