About the logo
|
The logo dates back to around 1998 when I used to "burn" customers that were probably a little too ignorant to be building computers in the first place. I'd like to think that I'm not so arrogant anymore (although I may still be), but the I think the logo is still funny. The image was scanned from the warning tag on one of my wife's curling irons. I replaced the image of the curling iron with "jonnyGURU" and the logo has been my avatar ever since.

Computer Links
Hardware Canucks: I'm not Canadian, but I like the computer hardware reviews here.
[H]ard|OCP: [H] is a very popular computer hardware review site.
Phoronix: Many Linux sites have come and gone, but Phoronix sticks around by mixing pertinent hardware reviews with Linux how to's.
Performance-PC's: Performance is a good place for wire, connectors, pins, cable sleeves, fan grills. light kits... anything you might need to make that custom build just right.
Logic Supply: Not just mini-ITX and SFF, but a good place for odds and ends like I/O plates, flash memory drives, small LCD's, etc.
Windows Alt Key Numeric Codes: When scrolling through Character Map gets to be too much. This page organizes the special characters by type.
Political/Current Events
Schnitt Show: Broadcasting from Tampa, Schnitt delivers in your face, non-agenda talk radio. Make sure to check out the global warming and remember 9/11 sections for ammo against conspiracy theorists.
Glenn Beck: I can't believe they gave this ADD riddled, alcoholic Mormon his own show on CNN... then again, he's entertaining and reverent.
Just for Fun & Misc
Phosphor: A Shockwave FPS that you play in your browser. Reminiscent of early Quake.
Reverent Entertainment: True art or fake art? Artist or ape? Masterpiece of minimalism or affordable furniture?
Engrish: Humorous English mistakes that appear in Asian advertising and product design.
xkcd: A webcomic of romance, sarcasm, math and language.
FAIL Blog: Pictures and videos of owned, pwnd and fail moments.
Tilted Twister: A Lego Mindstorms robot that solves Rubik's cubes. MUST SEE VIDEO!
